There are lots of free, relevant events happening over the next few months in the ramp-up to COP27.

Here’s your weekly round-up of online events you may find useful, plus my candid thoughts to help you suss out if you think they’re worth the time.

Reuters: Where Business Drives Climate Action Hear from the C-suites of companies such as IKEA, Rolls Royce, and Diageo, as well as the CEO of the UN Global Compact. Sometimes these types of sessions are merely talking heads delivering a carefully constructed “corporate party line”, but there can be important insights into how the big companies are viewing and communicating about ESG and sustainability.  October 3 – 7, various times.

Life cycle Analysis (LCA) for Beginners Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the scientific method for measuring the environmental footprint of products. This session is hosted by a tech company called Eco chain Technologies which offers a tool to help make LCAs more accessible. I would have killed for a tool like this back in 2010 when I had to do an LCA for a client on a telephone directory! October 5 @ 6 am EST

Decarbonization: The Business and Investor View Hear perspectives on the shift to a zero carbon economy from Al Gore and representatives from the Economist and IKEA (again). The webinar description reads a bit like a basic call-to-action for business, but I know that some of you reading this have been through Al Gore’s Climate Reality Leadership training and sessions like this can provide important insights into the big picture. November 10 @ 10am EST.
